About Adaptive Learning

Knowledge Benefits uses an adaptive learning platform called amplifire™. Amplifire integrates neuroscience and cognitive psychology specifically designed for adult learners. Here’s how it works:

Priming

We ask the questions first but it’s not a test! Research shows that priming by answering multiple-choice questions before study dramatically prepares the mind for learning and retention. The practice of retrieving information activates mental processes that strengthen memory encoding for longer retention.

Adaptive Presentation

The presentation of information is adapted for each individual to activate the prefrontal cortex and release dopamine so that learning is easy and fun. Refreshers delivered at the right time solve the problem of forgetting. Spaced repetition is based on learning patterns identified during the training itself.

Engineered Spacing

Answer correctly and you’ll know immediately. But you’ll have to wait for the answers you get wrong. That’s because waiting for context after being exposed to information drives engagement and effective retrieval. It’s a proven technique called engineered spacing.

Confidence Measures

We ask you to assess your confidence in your answer choices to identify areas of confidently held misinformation. This activates two parts of the brain: the part that thinks about the certainty of the information and the part that holds the information and triggers an emotional feeling necessary for learning.

This evidence-based approach to learning is proven to dramatically improve comprehension and knowledge retention:

  1. Up to 95% knowledge mastery
  2. Up to 79% retention after 12 months
  3. Learning in 50 – 75% less time
  4. Robust reporting features indicate areas of “confidently held misinformation” for review
  5. The refresh option allows you to retake the class from the beginning or only the ones you got wrong.

Additional Learning

As you go through the questions, there are opportunities for you to gain more knowledge about a particular question. Just click the Additional Learning section at the bottom to learn more on the different topics in that course.

Need to Know

If there is any additional information that is important for a particular question, it will also appear at the bottom in the What You Need to Know section.

Master Each Module

The green bars in the top right corner will show you how far you have progressed through each module and will let you know when you have successfully completed it. You can save your progress and come back to finish a course at a later date.

Module Results

When you have finished a module, you’ll be able to see all the questions and how many times it took you to answer each one correctly. You can also expand the section on each question to see the full answer. If you like, you can redo the module until you get the results you want.

Because we understand that everyone learns differently, you can also learn about amplifire technology by watching the video below or reading more about the Science of learning on their website.
